What is STCW Personal Survival Techniques (PST)?

STCW Personal Survival Techniques (PST), is a one-day Sea Survival course. It is one of five basic safety courses required by all professional seafarers operating on vessels over 200 tonnes and some vessels under this size. It can be booked as a stand alone day or part of STCW Basic Safety Week.

STCW Personal Survival Techniques Prerequisites

  • Minimum age 16
  • Water confident (i.e. a non swimmer can join us if he/she is confident in a swimming pool)
  • Reasonable physical health and fitness. You will be expected to climb into a liferaft from the pool. If in any doubt consult your GP.

What’s is included in STCW Personal Survival Techniques?

  • 1 day of training including flare session and pool session
  • Use of immersion suit, life jacket etc.
  • Tea & coffee
  • Free parking (on street)

What’s is not included in STCW Personal Survival Techniques?

  • Lunch
  • Accommodation
